Guei Lai Elementary School (GLES)



GLES successfully implemented water and power conservation strategies in 2015, namely permeable pavement and lighting circuit improvement; the related results are listed in the Appendix. GLES is committed to environmental sustainability, and by referring to the related notions of environmental education promotion and domestic green campus promotion development, the school has created courses on campus sustainability that combine the schoolˇ¦s environmental conditions with local heritage. The courses are classified into two themes: water resources and energy. GLES expects to develop additional environmental and cultural discovery courses, as well as use the energy-saving infrastructure as sustainable teaching materials. In short, the environmental transformation of the classrooms will enable them to serve as interactive, sustainable classrooms.
