Chiao-Yi Elementary School

Through countless meetings and discussion, we come up with this sustainable campus project aiming to arouse more attention to the bond between man and land. This project is not just about the working of engineering and construction, but about understanding and caring of the land on which we live.

Wind and Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Power

Our school converts wind and sunlight into green energy and puts the experience into the green courses. We also arrange a couple of activities for students to approach these new power systems. Through these courses and activities, they begin to realize the importance of energy saving and the marvelous conversion of natural resources into electricity. Our schoolˇ¦s wind and PV solar power systems also become a new landmark not just for our campus but also for the county.

Green Materials --- Chiao-Yi Hall

Chiao-Yi Hall is made of green materials and serves as the center of our eco education. Its surrounding spaces are open for studentsˇ¦ outdoor activities. During the construction of the hall, we took up the opportunity and explained the green materials to our students. Now, the hall is surrounded by tree shades and breeze. It provides a pleasant place for kids to chill out and best exemplifies the combination of green materials and sustainability into our daily life.

Interior Improvement

We hang a couple of studentsˇ¦ works on the sustainable campus project and some signboards in Chiao-Yi Hall. We also invited their parents and local people to come and share our experience in sustainable development.

Our sustainable campus project provides a great opportunity for us to educate the students how sustainable development plays an important role in our daily life. We hope they can learn the deep meaning of sustainability and bring it back to their family and local communities.
