Tainan National University of the Arts

Tainan National University of the Arts is the only national university in Tainan County and sits by Wushantou (烏山頭) Reservoir. Beautiful scenery and unique architecture have attracted a lot of visitors. Apart from our arts courses, we also design certain green courses on sustainable development trying to act as the eco education center in Chia-Nan area (嘉南).
Since 2008, our sustainable campus team has cooperated with local artisans, such as carpenters, smiths and bricklayers, trained from local communities’ courses. During the construction and cooperation, we pass sustainability on from our school to local people. Gradually, a database of human resources for sustainable development has emerged, which includes local artisans, our alumni, and students’ families. Through direct participation, they begin to merge into our sustainable campus project and sustain sustainable development.
This year, we still continue our sustainable model to carry our sustainable campus project. We use last year’s human resources to guide this year’s new members, Nan-Kwang Senior High School (南光中學), and share our green experience with them.
With the vertical integration of sustainable development, from university, to senior high schools, local schools and to local communities, we are forging a cooperation model for sustainable development. It is also our hope that we share our green experience with local people and cause a ripple effect of sustainable development for the public.
