Background:
Our science building faces north and the labs and lab equipments are on the southern and northern sides. The poor ventilation had long been a nightmare for people staying in the building.
The unpleasant smell produced on experiments was usually strong and lasting, and posed a threat to people’s health. For a better learning environment, we decided to make a change in a sustainable manner.
Results:
This year we were granted NT$600,000 for our sustainable campus project. Under the guidance of architect Hsu, Yu-Fu (徐郁富), we commissioned Mei-Pang Construction (美邦營造) to carry out the ventilation improvement project.
The new ventilation system provides much more refreshing air for the building. It is a big relief for our students and teachers from the suffocating smells. Furthermore, we are pleased to see such a remarkable change.
