Through the Sustainable Campus Project, we have made the experiential education on our campus farm more comprehensive. The recycled rainwater provides another source of water for crops, and leaf compost provides organic fertilizer. Through sheet mulching, teachers and students learn a new farming technique that enhances soil fertility. Our sustainable campus curriculum emphasizes practice, experience, and reflection and enables teachers and students to have the right values about the interaction between humans and nature.
We will spare no effort to plan campus projects appropriately, guide teachers to develop curriculum, and combine our experiences with the great tradition of environmental education in order to promote the Sustainable Campus Project and become an exemplar of environmental education.
In terms of the connection with the community, we continue to cooperate with the community in our experiential curriculum on growing organic rice. We turned our school into a community resource center and rendered the community a place to gain hands-on experiences in order to gradually raise sustainable community consciousness.
