Our school joined the sustainable campus project in 2013. We have been dedicated in teaching students concepts related to environmental sustainability and have incorporated a sustainable campus course into the curriculum to nurture these values in students and ensure that they are reflected in their everyday behavior. The other part of the project involves partial renovation work to increase the sustainability of the campus. Our school!|s 2016 plan contains two parts. The first involves installing a ventilator in the security room at the school gate to improve air circulation and lower the temperature, because the room has only one window.
This will reduce reliance on electric fans and other appliances, saving energy and reducing carbon output. The other part of the project is the sustainable campus cycle. The concern here is that our school is located on a dip slope and is therefore threatened by landslides. Subsidence and dislocation are already happening at the walls of our school. To resolve this problem, we want to alter the water drainage direction by increasing the height of the slope so water will flow toward the sports field. By preventing water from accumulating at the slope or rain from washing soil away, we can provide our teachers and students with a safer school environment
