National Taitung Girls' Senior High School

!

    On our campus, there are east-west facing and north-south facing buildings. The East-West facing building (near the corridor) suffers from glare, such as the Bo-Ai Building on the east and the Lab Building on the west. We currently use curtains to block sunlight;
    however since the sun hits the walls directly and for a long time, the walls absorb a lot of heat. This makes the air conditioner inefficient at cooling and skyrockets our electricity bill. The classroom never gets natural light as the curtains are shut, and as half of the curtains are shut all year round, classroom ventilation is poor.

     We plan to install sunshields outside corridors (not classrooms) and by doing so the curtains can be opened, allowing fresh air and natural light to enter the classroom. It can also reduce glare and indoor temperature in classrooms, and overall achieve a better learning and teaching environment.
