National Taitung University Laboratory Elementary School

!

The two main buildings on campus are east-west and north-south facing respectively. These buildings are exposed to direct glare during winter and summer. During summer, after playing sports, many students and teachers perspire in classrooms, filling classrooms with unpleasant smell and rendering the space not conducive to learning and teaching. Therefore, we have applied for funding for installing sunshields, which help to reduce direct glare and heat as well as maintain indoor ventilation and air quality. Students and teachers can consequently enjoy learning and teaching in classrooms.

Windows in the Xin-Yi Building cannot be fully opened because of their relative position to shelves. As a result, classrooms in the building are poorly ventilated. Additionally, sun glare from the west also makes the classrooms intolerably hot and humid. In this project, we will replace the existing windows with aluminum windows and doors with blind doors. Consequently, classrooms in this building can be significantly better ventilated, cooler, and less humid.
