Location
Our school is close to Tainan Railway Station and Tainan Park, and sits on one of the busiest road of the city. We cooperate with local communities and share our resources, so that together we provide a healthy, natural, and safe space for our students and local people.
Natural landscapes
Our campus is as beautiful a place as the neighbouring Tainan Park. In fact it covers 25,122 m2 and is quite spacious. It is more like a big garden for our students, or, put it another way, it is like a small forest in the city. In order to take good care of these flowers and trees, we paid special attention to rain/water recycling. The only fly in the ointment of such a beautiful campus is its flooding problem. The flooding in the front garden really caused much inconvenience for our students and teachers in rainy days.
Traffic & Environment
We improved the surfaces of the sidewalks of the east, west, and south sides of the campus. We also tried to increase their spaces for walking and to green these areas. In doing so, our students can enjoy these safe and green walks on their way to school, and local people can also come and chill out there. Furthermore, it can promote community harmony and interpersonal relationships and feelings. The best thing for local people is to walk on these walks as if walking in the trails. However, to water these plants required lots of tap water and increased the water bills. So, we planned to recycle rainwater for irrigation and to save more water resources.
Sustainable Campus
Our new buildings on the campus are equipped with a rainwater recycling and water purification system. The system reduces our school!|s water consumption and serves as a good teaching model of our eco education. But, because of our tight budget in the beginning, we could not afford enough water tanks. A lot of precious water resources were not recycled. We were eager to apply for more funding to buy more water tanks and to equip our old buildings with the system. Our rainwater recycling system could only cover the southern part of the campus, unfortunately not including irrigation and toilet use in the northern part. We hope this project can help us cover that.
