Naba Elementary School

!

Our sustainable campus project consists of two parts: Rainwater Recycling, and Water Saving. For the first part, we used some pipes and tanks to set a new rainwater recycling system. Rainwater is collected from the roof and recycled for irrigation and toilet use. This new system allows us to make the most of our precious water resources. As for water saving, we breaked the concrete pavement of a half derelict sports court.

The removed broken concrete was buried under the ground. On top of the sports court, we lay out some soil and grew some plants and grass for greening. Finally this sports court turned out as a natural underground tank to retain water, prevent flooding, lower temperature, and keep good soil water retention. We also integrated this project into our courses, so that students could have better understanding of water recycling, and aware of the close connection between our daily life and sustainable development.
